BOEING – Specification BSS7432

AV8 Polymer Coating conforms to Boeing’s BSS7432 Specification for

"Exterior and General Cleaners, Liquid Waxes, Polishes and Polishing Compounds"—which supersedes the previous D6-17487 spec.

Tested & Passed:

-  Acrylic Crazing

(ASTM F484)

-  Paint Softening

(ASTM F502, BMS coatings)

-  Hydrogen Embrittlement (ASTM F519 – 150 hrs, no failures)

-  Sandwich Corrosion

(ASTM F1110)

AV8 also meets Airbus Material Specification AIMS 09-00-002, governing exterior cleaning and polishing materials.

Conforming Tests Include:

- Sandwich Corrosion

- Total Immersion Corrosion

- Hydrogen Embrittlement

(ASTM F519 – 150 hrs, no failures)

-  Paint Softening

(ISO 1518 – No softening or staining)

- Acrylic Crazing

- Polycarbonate Crazing

These results confirm AV8 is safe for use on Airbus aircraft without compromising critical surfaces or coatings.

SAE AMS 1650D – Aircraft Metal Polish Specification

AV8 conforms to the majority of SAE AMS 1650D, the aerospace standard for aircraft metal polishing compounds.

Passed Compliance Includes:

- No flash point hazard

- No corrosive effects on aluminum alloys

- No effect on plastics (MIL-P-25690)

- No softening or staining of painted surfaces

- No streaking on unpainted surfaces

- Low abrasive number (gentle on finishes)

AV8 has been weather-tested to ASTM 154-06 (Cycle 6) for 2,000 hours, proving its resilience in harsh environmental conditions. It remains highly hydrophobic, chemically resistant, and UV-stable.

Note: Aesthetic appearance under cold/heat cycling and product homogeneity were marked "does not conform," but these have no impact on safety, performance, or surface compatibility. As bottle must me shaken prior to use.

Cirrus SA25-02 Compatibility

AV8 Polymer Coating is fully compatible with the restrictions outlined in Cirrus Service Advisory SA25-02, which governs approved exterior finishes for SR20, SR22, and SR22T aircraft.Unlike ceramic coatings or vinyl wraps, AV8 is a reactive polymer coating designed with safety and compatibility in mind.

✔️ Non-ceramic & fluorine-freeAV8 is not a ceramic coating and does not form a crystalline shell or high-build layer that could interfere with static grounding or bonding.

✔️ Lightweight, Non-Film-FormingAt ~0.5μm cured thickness, AV8 does not alter airflow or surface conductivity, and does not interfere with OEM static discharge provisions.

✔️ No adverse effect on lightning protection or CAPS systemsAV8 has been applied to over 100 Cirrus aircraft with zero incidents or compatibility issues reported.

✔️ Removable and re-coatable AV8 can be easily polished off and reapplied without damaging or altering the aircraft’s finish.
